Can you help prevent the needless suffering and neglect of unwanted dogs & cats in Northeast Louisiana?  YES YOU CAN!  Please join PAWS as we embark on our 3rd Annual Sponsor-A-Spay Campaign and help us reach our goal of raising funds for the spaying & neutering of 300 dogs & cats by Christmas Day 2009! 

Thanks to our 2008 Sponsor-A-Spay Angels, we were able to spay or neuter 161 animals belonging to low-income pet owners in Northeast Louisiana. 

There is still much work to be done to combat the tragic problem of companion animal overpopulation! 

Did you know that 6,874 dogs and cats were put to sleep at the Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter in 2008 due to the enormous number of strays and owner surrendered pets?  An average of 23 pets per day are euthanized due to overpopulation in our area. 

The majority of these animals were from low-income families that could not afford to have their pets spayed or neutered. 

The only way to stop this cycle is through spay/neuter.  With your help, we CAN make a difference.  Please join us and help start saving lives today!
