Maggie

"Magnolia" was pulled from the Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter because of her color and breed. Black labs are the most common breed of dog that enter the shelter and also the least likely to be adopted. She was fostered by local volunteer, Jeff Smith and his family for about 3 weeks. She then found her "forever family" through Labs4Rescue and she now lives in New Jersey. Her new family had the following to say about her:

Maggie is doing just great. She is a full-fledged member of our family in every way. She is a joy to have around. She is a fun dog with a pleasant and easy-going personality. She has made lots of new friends - both human and dog. Maggie likes hanging out with my sons; she especially likes to sit next to James and put her head on his lap. We jokingly call them "the twins". My wife is a stay-at-home mom, and so even when school starts back in September, Magnolia will always have a pal to play with – and I can assure you, my wife would much rather play with Magnolia than just about anything else in the world. It was my wife that saw Magnolia’s picture on the web site and said “that’s the one”. She fell in love with that smiling face. Thank you so much for helping Maggie and making it possible for her to be part of our family!
