Abby

A scraggly, smelly border collie (picture 1 above) with missing patches of fur was dropped off at the animal shelter by her owner. The employees didn’t even know what to call her because her owner didn’t bother to tell them her name. Even worse, she tested positive for heartworms. We went out to see her and she immediately stole our hearts. We called her Abigail, Abby for short. We pulled her from the shelter and found her a foster home with Ashlee Tidwell and her family. ORVAL graciously donated the funds to have her heartworms treated and Abby was on her way to having her first real taste of life! She made it through the heartworm treatment and day by day her hair began to grow back, black and shinier than ever (pic 2 above). Abby was accepted by the West TN Border Collie Rescue and transport began to be arranged. But Abby was destined to be a Louisiana girl. Her foster mom’s friend came to meet Abby and knew that there was something special about her. They took her home and Abby now has a wonderful new family who loves her very much. Her hair is thick and curly now (pic 3) and she’s enjoying her new “furever” home.
